Stump Grinding and Root Removal

Stump grinding is one of the most important steps in fully removing a tree and restoring usable space on your property. A leftover stump can lead to regrowth, attract pests, and create obstacles for mowing, landscaping, or future projects. Our stump grinding service is designed to eliminate those problems safely and efficiently, using professional equipment and experienced operators to ensure the job is done thoroughly and with care. Whether you’re preparing for new plantings or simply want a cleaner, safer yard, we make the process straightforward from start to finish.

Why Stump Grinding Matters

The job isn’t quite over once a tree has been cut down. If a live stump and its roots are left in the ground, the tree can grow back. Stumps also create ongoing problems for homeowners — they’re difficult to mow around, attract termites and ants, and block new landscaping or construction projects. If you want a tree fully removed, grinding the stump is the only way to ensure it’s gone for good.

How We Prepare and Grind Your Stump

Before we come out to grind a stump, it’s important that the stump is cut as close to ground level as possible. A tree removal company or the homeowner can handle this with a chainsaw, as long as the bar is long enough to cut past the midpoint of the stump. Once the stump is at an appropriate height, we can begin grinding the stump and root system using our Carlton SP7015 remote‑operated stump grinders. These powerful, maneuverable machines give our operators excellent visibility and allow us to access nearly any stump or root system.

Safe, Thorough, and Built for Long‑Term Results

When we reach the site, we grind the stump and any visible roots down to six inches below the surface. This depth prevents regrowth, removes tripping hazards, and creates space for fill soil or new plantings. Stump grinding can be dangerous due to flying debris like rocks and wood chips, but our team follows strict safety protocols and uses proper protective equipment to minimize risk and protect your property. If you have a stump that needs to be removed, we’re ready to provide a consultation and estimate.
